Scripts for prepping staff before survey
From Ms. C: 1. Overview: This paper takes you to the next step. It should discuss everything you need to do to get the study ready to go. Although you are not going to do the actual study YET, I want you to create all the written work you would create for the study. If you are going to do a survey, provide the actual survey you would use in an appendix. 2. Training the Staff: Even though you may have chosen a topic that does not require you to actually work with the real library you are creating the study about or for, you must include a section on how you would explain what you are doing and why to the library staff as though you were on staff and doing this for your employer. Include the actual email wording, memo, handout, discussion points for a meeting, etc. that you would give to help them understand why and what you are doing. These should be in an appendix.
3. Length: The body of the paper should not exceed 10 pages and will probably be closer to 5 pages. With the title page and all of its appendixes, the entire paper should not exceed 30 pages, and in most cases, should be substantially less. It will be graded on how closely you have anticipated what you will need to do to complete the project as designed in your first paper.
